REAL ESTATE, LAND USE AND ZONING
The firm's real estate and land use group combines extensive experience and professional relationships to negotiate complex real estate transactions and to achieve land use objectives. The firm represents private clients, including developers and land owners, before state, regional and local governments, including elected and appointed boards and their staffs. The firm has experience in all aspects of land use including:
- zoning
- comprehensive plan amendments
- concurrency
- historic preservation
- conditional uses, special exceptions and variances
The firm's lawyers negotiate and prepare agreements with governmental agencies to allow projects to be developed and work with governments to prepare ordinances and legislation in furtherance of the goals of our clients.
Several of our lawyers are former city and county attorneys who provided in-house legal guidance and advice on all local government issues, including the drafting of ordinances and comprehensive plans related to land development.
Additionally, the firm represents clients on negotiating complex real estate transactions for residential and commercial projects.
Over the years the firm expanded its practice to include local governmental representation in both litigation and transactional matters. It also represents private clients in transactional real estate matters and in the area of land use and development before state, regional and local governments.
